If Juve Get Higuain, All Eyes MUST Be on Champions League Glory
This looks set to happen. The fee being rumored is stupid, unjustified but that's a topic for another day. If it does go through, then Juventus have to set their sights bigger than purely the Serie A, a league in which they have made a mockery of.
With the attacking options of Dybala, Zaza, Mandzukic (sometimes) and now possibly even Higuain, Juventus will have a demonic attack that should see them win the league again.
This is why they have to make the Champions League their prime focus and priority. They came close two years ago, but with them now having that finisher which Mandzukic on his best day isn't, this is a Champions League caliber team.
The Pogba loss, truth be told, could be problematic. They will have a defence that proved to be the best in the world at the Euros and an attack with Higuain and Dybala that could cut through metal. In that midfield, with Pirlo, Vidal alreadt having left and now Pogba possibly also being on his way, that may be a serious drop in quality.
This is all assuming though that Allegri doesn't already have a replacement lined up, who can fit into the team structure rather than trying to emulate Paul Labile. With Italians, we know they can extract gold from rocks, so even with Pogba going, it won't spell the end for them.
Back to Higuain, I don't rate him as a great striker because that would be an insult to true legends like Batistuta, Baggio, Weah and so forth. But of what we have today, he's one of the best. Please tell me any other strikers as good as him in the box?
Purely by default, because nobody wants to be or play as a striker, Higuain is one of the best out there. It was only one season, so you can argue that being an anomaly, but facts are facts. Dude broke the scoring record in the toughest defensive league in the world. You've got to give credit.
I've always said that a great finisher goes a long way in winning trophies. You put that to one of the best coached teams in the world with a deep and good squad, and you've got yourself a formidable team that ought to do damage beyond their own league.
Also, Buffon isn't getting any younger and as each year goes by, what Juve fans fear is of his retirment. A fittin tribute and goodbye to a legendary career is winning this Champions League. Which is why Allegri, the board and the entire team have to really go for it this year with one of the world's best finishers.
Just don't give our friend an Argentine jersey. HH
