ICARDI IS A TOP 5 STRIKER...DON'T ARGUE

He's top five.

Nobody can argue right now, in this world that is allergic to strikers, that Mauro Jeremiah Icardi isn't among the best five finishers in the world.

My list includes Lewandowski, Aubamayeng, Kane and Icardi.

I can hear all of you jumping up and down cursing me, and asking where the hell is the Cannibal and Aguero?

Let me kindly explain their omissions.

The Cannibal, as good a finisher as he is, can get into slumps, and will be very wasteful with his chances. Aguero still hasn't explained who he has showing up for him in the blue and white of Argentina.

It's about consistency gentlemen. And those two, who are excellent on their day, just have too many slip-ups for me to put them in the top five.

As for my argument for Icardi? It's his conversion rate. The very few chances that he needs to score is simply outstanding.

This man is playing for an Inter side that are losers compared to the greatness of the Mourinho or Ronaldo era. They don't have one single creative player on their team and when they attack, everyone just rushes up without giving much thought as to what they should be doing, like Sneijder did.

We really need more peak Sneijders in this world.

That means Icardi knows that every sniff he gets, he must make it count. Because with every chance he wastes, it will become less and less likely that he or his team will find the back of the net.

The Milan derby was Icardi's coming out party. It was the game in which the world and myself included is now starting to take notice of his talents.

A hat-trick in a derby...let's give props where it is deserved.

I watch the Serie A (unlike too many out there), and have done so pretty consistently. So I have known of Icardi. When I used to see him, nothing caught my eye. All I saw was a good striker, but not anyone who should be even considered world class.

What is happening this season for the first time in a long time for Inter Milan, is they have a very good manager. Someone who actually understands tactics and organisation. All you Mancini fanboys can take a seat....dude is overrated.

This has improved the general play of the team and has meant the service given to Icardi is better, because Spalletti has given the players proper instructions and training as to how to create chances from the wing.

And in the Milan derby, goals came from a superb Candreva cross from deep, and another was a neat cutback that produced one of the finishes of the season.

The improvisation and execution of that second goal was mindblowing. You need to take some time and watch that again and realise just how difficult that G was.

This is a very important season for Icardi. Scratch that. It should be an important campaign for Icardi, it being a world cup season. But with an arrogant fool called Sampaoli in charge of Argentina; even if Icardi was to get twenty plus G's, he'd still pick that brick from Boca Juniors.

Whatever the case, the most pressing objective is the Scudetto. That is now the objective, and even though I will not put them as favorites, that has to be what they should be aiming for.

With Icardi producing this kind of finishing, and finally winning back the love of the fans, Inter Milan are a team to watch in Italy. So much focus was on Juventus and Napoli making it a two-horse race, but Mauro and his crew, lead by Spalletti may have something different to say about that. HH
