Roma Losing Pjanic Is Not a Big Deal

People drew parallels between Bayern and Juventus, in the way they've casually taken the best players from their rivals and moonwalked away with a big grin. That may be true with Higuain, who was one of the best players in the Serie A last season. For Pjanic? Errr, I don't think so.

There was a time that Pjanic was really good under Garcia, when Roma were running Juventus close for the title. Then he was one of the best attacking midfielders, having a great eye to thread passes through and was the main point at which all of Roma's attacks came from. Unfortunately, without an actual striker, all of Pjanic's hard work was for nothing.

That was then and this is now. Recently, Pjanic has declined and last season, it was as if he wasn't even playing. The man to credit for Roma's ascent up the table was Spalletti with a mixture of El Sharawy. They are the ones that brought life to Roma and brought a cutting edge that gave them the points, with Pjanic hardly contributing to this.

That's just real talk.

It's still a good buy for Juventus, I suppose, but definitely not a big loss for Roma. Napoli will feel the effects ten times more with Higuain leaving as opposed to Roma. Spalletti still has El Sharawy, Nainggolan, De Rossi, and just needs to add a really good striker and an attacking winger to be a real threat next season.

Also keep in mind, Spalletti isn't Garcia and the way he has Roma playing is more incisive and probably doesn't fit the playing style of Pjanic who was a darling of Garcia's. Which is why Roma fans should just hope no more important players leave and their scouts can find some nice additions under the radar.
